Ways To Tell You Are From Pittsburgh

Being from Pittsburgh or the Pittsburgh area is great. Going to the city whenever you like just to explore is common for you and a group of friends. Every time you go into the city you fall even more in love with its beauty (if that is even possible). You are proud to be from Pittsburgh and you make sure to let everyone know that. Here is a list of some of the ways to tell if you are from Pittsburgh.

You say yinz instead of y'all or you guys.

You've already gotten into countless arguments with people about the words pop and soda. Just drop it because it's pop. Being in the city and being from the city you are so used to hearing these words when you hear people using different words you might be confused by what they are trying to say. People from Pittsburgh speak their own language and it even has its own name.

Putting french fries and cole slaw on a sandwich is normal to you, and you wouldn't have it any other way.

Primanti brothers sandwiches are the best things ever. They make you so happy to eat because there are so many different options and when you eat a sandwich from here it's like eating everything that Pittsburgh embodies. You also would never eat at Primanti brothers anywhere other than Pittsburgh.

When people ask you to say where you're from, you say Pittsburgh although you live 20 minutes away.

You live in such a small town there is no other way to describe it other than how far away from Pittsburgh it is. When you are on vacation you just tell people that you are from Pittsburgh because it's just easier that way.

You follow all of the sports teams like it is your job.

You know all of the games scores because you either are watching the game or getting notifications on your phone about them. You love each and every one of the Pittsburgh teams and you couldn't have chosen a better city and teams to fall in love with.

You go to at least five pirates games a season.

Pirates games are great to go to because they are so much fun and super cheap! There is not one bad seat in PNC park and the atmosphere is always amazing. Opening day is like a holiday to you ad no matter the weather you'll always be there cheering on your favorite baseball team! Also, who doesn't love seeing people dressed as pierogies racing each other?!

You have too many pictures of the city saved on your phone, but they're all so beautiful and different you can't bear to delete them.

The city is beautiful no matter where you see it from. The view from Mount Washington takes your breath away no matter how many times you've seen it. Standing at the Point State Park and just looking around at the city is amazing and you notice something new that you love each and every time.

You've done the Just Ducky tours once in your life. although you've lived in the city for most of it.

The Just Ducky tours are a great way to see the city even if you've lived in it your whole life. This car goes from land to water very easily and it is the coolest thing to experience. Sometimes they even let you steer the boat!!

Biking in Pittsburgh is your favorite thing to do in the summer.

During the summer you will have a lot of free time and to you that means exploring the city on foot or bike. The trail by the river walk is one of the best trails to ride because you get beautiful views of Heinz Field and PNC Park as well as the city. Riding in the city is one of the best places to ride and once you ride here you'll never want to ride anywhere else.

Pittsburgh is easily one of the most beautiful cities ever and you wouldn't want to live anywhere else. There is always things to do in the city and the people are always so welcoming. The city is your favorite and you wouldn't want to be from anywhere else.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
