This one if for all the single guys out there because the truth is, when it comes to girls, we tend to be a little bit dense. In fact, it’s a lot easier to tell whether or not a girl is interested in you than you think. So without further ado here are 7 ways to tell whether or not a girl is interested in you.

1. She's Laughing

Psychologist tell us that when we are laughing in a group of people that we tend to look towards the person we are most interested in. This is a subconscious way for that person to judge your future compatibility as a couple. If you aren’t laughing at a joke they found funny it might tell them to reevaluate their interest in you. Next time you’re in a group of people be sure to pay attention to where your potential love interest looks.

2. She's Being Awkward

Now this is a little harder to notice but, as a girl develops feelings for you she may become more awkward or nervous around you. This can be due to a lot of different factors however this usually happens because the interested party doesn’t want to embarrass themselves around you. This can be extremely hard to spot, especially if you aren’t too familiar with the person in the first place.

3. She's Initiating Contact

Often times when a girl is interested in you they might subconsciously initiate contact with you in some way. Whether that is a touch on the shoulder, a brush of the hand, or some other type of small bodily contact. Now this is often paired with profuse apologizing and blushing. If a girl seems like she is way too embarrassed about brushing your hand and she apologizes for it multiple times, chances are she’s interested in you.

4. She's Biting Her Lip

Another subconscious telltale sign of interest is when a girl bites her lip or puts her finger on her lip when she is talking to you. This is one of the most obvious ways to spot whether or not a girl likes you. Be careful though, some girls do this naturally in conversations even with people they aren’t interested in. But, if the girl also glances at your lips during conversations she’s most likely interested in you. Just be sure to pay attention for these signs when you’re talking to them.

5. She's Posturing

A whole lot can be learned from a girl’s posture and how she stands when she does talk to you. If her feet are pointed to you and her chest is squared to you then her subconscious posturing points to the fact she interested in you. If her feet are pointed away from you or out to the sides and her body language is more closed then she probably isn’t interested in you or the conversation. A person interested in you tends to smile, look you in the eyes for extended periods of times, and often presents open body language.

6. She's Playing With Her Hair

Okay this one can be tricky. A girl playing with her can mean interest or it can mean distress and discomfort. A girl who is stroking her hair quickly, is not making eye contact, and is giving short responses is most likely uninterested in you and very uncomfortable. If this occurs it is best if you politely end the conversation and walk away. If a girl is twirling her hair gently, smiling, and genuinely seems to be engaged by the conversation she is probably interested in you. The twirling of the hair is a subconscious tell. Again be careful, some girls do this naturally and when they do twirl their hair it might not be a sign of interest.

7. She's Talking to Her Friends About You

This is a huge sign because it shows her interest has moved from a subconscious level to a conscious level and that her feelings for you are something she thinks about. If she discusses you with her friends, in a positive manner, this may mean she is seeking their approval or input about you as a potential boyfriend. Talk to her friends, if they mention that she has been talking you chances are good that she’s interested in you.

Just a final disclaimer. These are not fool proof ways of spotting interest and one of these signs alone does not point to potential interest. Just pay attention for these signs, as more of them appear the better the chance that she’s interested in you. Good luck. I hope this helped.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
