"So, you choose until now to tell me that tiny little detail?" I asked as I blinked a few times. "Wouldn't it of helped to kind of, ya know, give me a little bit of a warning before I went in there?"
He just looked away. "I didn't know they'd be home."
"Annnnd?" Silence. "Fine then. Why don't I already know about this. I think it's a tad bit on the serious side, especially now that I'm knocked up?" Silence. "Answer me damn it. I deserve a freaking answer, or, so help me, I will walk the hell out right now." I got up out of the bed, and tested my ability to stand. Sweet. Right then, it occurred to me that I was in his room, not mine. Where were his parents?
"I didn't tell you because I thought you'd leave me," he said quietly. "I didn't tell you because I thought you'd think I was crazy. I didn't tell you because I thought you would have laughed in my face. I didn't tell you because I love you. Okay?" His head was down in his hands, elbows on his knees.
"If you love someone, I mean really love someone, you shouldn't have to keep secrets from them. Especially this extreme. You shouldn't have to wait until I'm pregnant to tell me. You know me. You know I would of accepted it, hell I already knew you were one of the supernatural for Christ's sake. What do I look like? An idiot? Just come on." I stood by the door with my hand on the door knob, ready to walk out. I wasn't going to deal with this right now. Just, no.
I opened the door slightly, tears in my eyes. Before I could even blink, Aspen was right behind me. His hand slammed into the door forcing it shut. I sucked in a gasp and whirled around to see that green fire in his eyes, what I feared most. Instead, the only expression on his face was one so pained it tore at my heart. Swiftly, he knotted his fingers in my hair and kissed me with such a passion, such a ferocity, and so desperate that it took my breath away. His lips parted from mine and I gasped for air as he sunk slowly to his knees, forehead to my stomach. "Please," he whispered into my shirt. "let me explain. Don't leave. Give me a chance."
Of course, as the sucker I am, I agreed.
