8 Teenage Heartthrobs Today's Youth Wouldn't Crush On Even If You Paid Them

When talking to my sister, who is 11, she had asked me who our teen crushes were when it came to celebrities. When I told her that it was Chad Michael Murray, she had no idea who I was talking about and was quite honestly so confused. I had to show her pictures and videos of him and all the others in order for her to understand.

Unfortunately, I know this isn't only the case for her. Today's youth have no idea what they were missing. Here are 8 hearthrobs teenagers today wouldn't crush on even if you paid them.

1. Chad Michael Murray

Let's be honest ladies, we all fell in love with him when he was Nomad instant messaging Sam in "A Cinderella Story." When he told his father off to run after her, boy did that make us all swoon. Don't forget when he was Lucas Scott in "One Tree Hill" shooting hoops and winning every American teenage girl's heart.

2. Zac Efron

Now this one might be surprising, but I'm telling you today's youth doesn't even know him as Zac Efron from "High School Musical." Like really? We will never forget him as Troy Bolton, the basketball star and musical talent.

3. Leonardo Dicaprio

Young Leo was the heartthrob of all heartthrobs. When he saved Rose, as controversial as that was because there was definitely room for two people, all of us hoped to find someone one day that would risk their lives to save us.

4. Taylor Lautner

The last BIG movie Taylor was in was the "Twilight" Series. He has done some small roles in TV shows and movies, but nothing will compare to when he ripped off his shirt in "Twilight" and made us all basically drool over his six-pack.

5. Shia LaBeouf

Now this one is controversial, especial since his spiral over the past few years. But, the Shia that starred in "Holes" and "Transformers" was one to drool over.

6. Josh Hutcherson

When Josh stared in "The Hunger Games," and we were all still in high school and middle school, he was adorably cute. I remember telling my mom how cute I thought he was. Now, that he hasn't been in any big movies in a while, and he is now older, he is not as cute and definitely not making middle schoolers drool.

7. Nick Carter

A post shared by Backstreet Boys (@backstreetboys) on

This one is a no-brainer! Any girl that grew up in the 90s definitely cried when they heard that the Backstreet Boys were getting back together. There's no way that any middle school even knows who Backstreet Boys are let alone who Nick Carter is.

8. Jonas Brothers

Now you may be thinking, "but they're so big right now?" But, when asking my sister if she knew who they were, she had no idea, which is quite upsetting. Let's be honest ladies, Joe as Shane in "Camp Rock" will be one of my favorite roles he has ever done.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
