TED Talks are taking over the internet, and there is something for everyone. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, which includes almost everything. Here are 3 TED talks that every person should make time to watch... and with them capping at 18 minutes or less, it shouldn't be too hard.

1. Why We All Need To Practice Emotional First Aid

A psychologist's viewpoint on how humans need to focus on their minds and souls as well as their body's well being. Winch has a powerful and personal connection to the human state of loneliness and how it and other things affect our mental health. It is as informative as it is heartwarming.

2. Homosexuality: It's About Survival - Not Sex

James O'Keefe speaks highly of his son, who comes out as gay, which prompts this doctor to research genes and why people are gay. The science is touching, and is never doubtful that people are, in fact, born gay.

3. What I Learned From 100 Days of Rejection

This is by far the most inspirational one, and one that everyone can relate to. Who isn't afraid of rejection? Jia Jiang explores his own, deep rooted, fear of rejection and why it exists. He over comes it when he comes across a simple task he finds on Google, and this is how he does it.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
