As friends and family gather ‘round this holiday season, it’s important to commemorate the year, and for the techie in your family, what better way to celebrate technology’s failures than by showcasing a yule log, powered by this year’s exploding gadgets?
In a YouTube video lasting five hours, The Verge has put together a digital Yule Log, with 2016’s explosive gadgets fueling the flame. In their creation, which can be found here, you can hear the traditional sounds you’d come to expect from burning wood but, you also hear batteries popping, glass shattering, and what sounds like someone eating some Pringles. Coupled with a winter storm in the background, this is the perfect way to commemorate 2016 and transition into 2017.
