Tebow Update: Former QB Signs With Mets

Recently I wrote an article about former QB Tim Tebow. For those who haven’t read it, it explained the recent tryout by the former NFL QB and gave some of my opinions on his chances and who he might get signed by. First, I would ask you to read it. Well, maybe not, because if any of the events turn out like where he signed, I could be very very wrong about everything. Who did he sign for you might ask? Well it was not the Braves, that’s for sure. Instead, the former Florida Gators QB signed with none other than the New York Mets.

Yes, the team fighting for a playoff spot in Queens signed a former QB. Now, it does not seem like it makes any sense because what do the Mets need him for? But I guess you can make the same case for the Braves that it is a win win situation, but it still seems a little odd that the Mets would bring him in. It will make them tons of money in their minor league system just from jersey sales and merchandise featuring Tebow as well as games, but other than that I cannot see the former QB making the Mets roster at any time in his baseball career.

Now there are some positives to the deal, because Tebow does have some good power and could crush the ball as seen in his tryout, which was one of the biggest things scouts took out of his workout. His fielding is questionable and in a minor league system, the powerful Tebow will have to play the field. This could cause problems in the long-run, but that is why he is in the Mets Instructional League. It has been said that he would be a good left fielder because he has a weaker arm and it would be a shorter field, so that is a viable option. But will he end up being a liability out there?

I think that that is certainly something to watch out for in his first season with the team. It certainly will be interesting to watch and believe me, I am cheering for him. I want Tebow to succeed in the minors and hopefully make it to the majors because it would be a great story for sports and would really give a spike in interest to the MLB, but the reality of that happening is slim to none.

Tebow is a fan favorite. He is a terrific role model for kids and I think he is a figure that would only bring a good image to the Major Leagues. He just doesn’t have it from what we have seen so far. We won’t really know until he takes the field and who knows, maybe he will be better than expected. That is what we all are hoping for because if he does, then I think we could be in for a story that we could be talking about for years. And hey, that is definitely not the worst thing in the world.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
