Recently, I've developed quite an addiction to watching several Youtubers. No matter what mood I'm in, I can find just the right person to watch. Whether I need some cheering up, some extra encouragement, to have some fun, or to just hang out with someone, Youtubers always come to the rescue. If you're new to the world of Youtubing, welcome, and here's a list of vloggers to get you started on your journey:

1. Tyler Oakley

As all of my friends know, the one and only Tyler Oakley is my true spirit animal. He brightens my day simply by laughing. The mere sound of his laughter can solve any problem. He is real and true to himself, and encourages others to be themselves, too. His videos are loads of fun, entertaining, and after watching even just one of his videos, you will feel happier and ready to take on the world. In addition to his online success, he is also a huge supporter of The Trevor Project, which is an organization for the prevention of suicide among LGBT+ youth. He has inspired me to be who I am and has a positive impact on the world. Love you, Tyler! Keep being you, queen!

"The only constant you have from Point A, your birth, to Point B, your death, is you. There is no point in changing who you are to appease others when they're gonna leave your life. Love yourself because you're the only one who's stuck with yourself. Fall in love with who you are, and if anybody wants to join in on that, more power to them." -- Tyler Oakley

2. PsychoSoprano & Miranda Sings

A.K.A. Colleen Ballinger-Evans

Colleen is one of the funniest people I've ever heard of. Through her internet persona Miranda Sings, Colleen brings joy to her viewers by being foolish and also embracing her inner self. Miranda encourages people to be their fabulous self, and she and Colleen are role models to anyone who watches their videos because they use humor to inspire not only laughter but also inner confidence and beauty. Colleen/Miranda constantly reminds "haters" to "back off," and therefore empowers others to remember not to listen to those who are negative influences on their life. Colleen's videos are always bursting with positivity while also being real with her viewers.

"Haters, back off!" -Miranda Sings

3. Joey Graceffa

'Courage' is the word that comes to mind when I think about Joey Graceffa, the first Youtuber I ever felt connected to. He has helped me through so much in my life by simply talking to the world and sharing his stories to help others. This brave Youtuber has taken us on a journey of self-discovery over the last seven years while making us laugh at the same time. He has shown us how you can make such a great life for yourself and prevail even when life has not dealt you the best cards. Through coping with struggles such as his mother's alcoholism his entire life and sharing those issues with us, he has not only showed us that you can make it through tough times, but he has also showed us that it is okay to feel the feelings that come along with such hardships. Joey is a perfect example of what a beautiful person you can be if you let yourself bloom, even if the world is not ready for you to do so, as he alludes to in his song "Don't Wait," which is his way of coming out as gay to the world of Youtube. Sitting and watching Joey's highs and lows has inspired me to never let others hold me back when I'm trying to grow.

"You have the power and control to be whatever you want to be, no matter where you start in life." -- Joey Graceffa

4. Zoella

A.K.A. Zoe Sugg

The lovely little Zoella has taught us all how to be loving, caring, and happy individuals through spreading good vibes through her videos. She practices, and shares with us, daily positive living, and Zoe shows us how to love ourselves. Self-pampering is a must to Zoella, and she helps us all feel good in our own skin and make ourselves happy by surrounding ourselves with people who love us and by loving them back. Her videos are filled with beauty and DIY tutorials that promote the phrase "look good, feel good," helping us creative a positive atmosphere that we feel safe and beautiful in. With that, she is never afraid to show us the other side of Zoella, the side that struggles every day with anxiety, and this serves a reminder to us that no one is perfect and that when you have a bad day, you need to give yourself the time to just have that bad day and take care of yourself until you're back on your feet. Zoella may be small, but her impact on the world is mighty.

"Throw kindness around like confetti." -- Zoella

All in all, Youtubers are wonderful, incredible people who are always there for you. They can inspire you, encourage you, and fill you with joy. They will always be there to remind you how lovely you are and how much you matter. That being said, if you don't watch any of these people's videos, I urge you to do so because these people will have a huge, positive impact on your life, and they are making a difference in this world.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
