Why Is Team USA Struggling To Win At Basketball?
Sporting News

As mens basketball competition has been heating up, Team USA has sort of been struggling of late. In their first two games they blew out China and Venezuela, but then struggled against Australia and Serbia. In the game against Australia, the US didn't take the lead until the fourth quarter. It also took Carmelo Anthony's lights out shooting for the Americans to top the Australians. In that game Carmelo Anthony, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant were the only people on Team USA to score in the fourth quarter, and Durant scored two points on free throws at the end of the game. Team USA won by 10, but it wasn't a pretty game.

In the game against Serbia, there was shortage of offense, beating the Serbians by a score of 94-91. In a brief highlight tape of the game, all that was shown was offense by the Americans. Team USA couldn't stop Nikola Jokic, as he dropped 25 points on 11 of 15 shooting. Another area where Team USA lacked was their bench play only scoring 37 points while getting some good minutes. At the time of this writing Team USA will face of against a tough France team on Sunday.

Some players on Team USA have been playing well, and some have been playing terribly. Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony have been playing really well for the Americans, averaging 16.8 and 16.5 points per game respectively. On the other side of the scale Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have been playing really poorly in these olympic games. Both warriors in the four games have combined to score 23 points, which is less then what Carmelo scored against Australia. Klay Thompson is shooting a dismal 15% from the field and 18% from three. Klay is one of the players I thought would have done well due to the play of international basketball. Draymond is averaging 3 points per game on 33% shooting from the field.

I don't know what is wrong with Team USA, but if they keep playing like this they might lose.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
