A Touching Ad For The Holiday Season

There is no denying that Thanksgiving and Christmas have somewhat of a rivalry between themselves. Me? I am definitely Team Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I love the mashed potatoes and colorful leaves and family get-togethers as much as the next person. There is just something about the lights, the crisp air, the hot cocoa in themed mugs, the smell of pine trees, and the feeling that as terrible as your year may have been, it will somehow end well, that makes me long for this time of year more than any other.

Since my travels to London, I have looked forward to the John Lewis commercials every year unfailingly. Although this year’s advert was definitely cute (#BusterTheBoxer), something about the 2015 release has made me love Christmas all the more.

Life is tiring. Life is busy. Life is also too demanding of our own time that we often forget to pay attention to the people who make it worthwhile. To quote cancer-kicking Regina Brett, "Your job won't take care of you when you are sick, but your friends will." Let's not forget to stay in touch with those who we may not have seen in awhile. Even more so, let's not fail to make the people in our lives feel special.

So, without further ado, the 2015 John Lewis Christman Advert.

WARNING: TISSUES ADVISED (I cried. What can I say? I’m a melt.)

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
