What Makes Teaching One Of The Most Rewarding Careers

If you're an aspiring educator, take a read:

What makes being a teacher different from any other profession is that a teacher creates those professions in the first place.

A teacher creates a classroom; a laughter-sharing, memory-making, independence-building, brain-strengthing, safe, environment.

1. Teachers ignite sparks and celebrate milestones:

A teacher enlightens our youth and brightens our future by expanding our own minds, allowing us to develop inter-personal dreams by external learnings. A teacher is a role-model, guide and is trusted within a community. A teacher is a leader and is respected. Only a teacher places your needs before their own needs and will correct your errors by teaching you a lesson or two. A teacher has the ability to mold a mind by creativity and real passion. They teach from the heart and praise your intelligence. They will hold your hand and let you go off to the next grade at the perfect time. Only a teacher looses sleep over children who are not their own.

2. Teachers create brilliance:

Going into the teaching field is a calling. The amount of patience and love a teacher holds goes deep into their soul. Their hard work does not go unnoticed. "They don’t show up and sit behind a desk. They stand all day, talk all day, think all day, interact all day, and learn all day." Remember, teachers don't teach to be praised, teachers teach to make a difference.

3. Teachers are local celebrities:

The radiance a teacher shines outside the classroom is equivalent to being star-struck and seeing a celebrity. Spotting a teacher outside of their classroom; their prized possession, is like seeing a beautiful butterfly land right next to you. It's like, how can a teacher have a life of their own? You're right. A teacher has so much stored devotion, in the classroom, in the students.

Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
