While being back home there is one question my little sister keeps asking me...
"Megan, can we go driving? I want to drive."
My sister recently got her permit, and now loves to drive around just learning. So as her older sister, she begged and pleaded for me to take her driving. So how can I say no to that?
So while back home, I have been taking her driving a lot, which has probably been the most terrifying experience in my life.
My dad has taught my sister how to drive for the most part, granted she still has a problem with turns and slamming on the breaks. The one thing my dad didn't get to teach her yet, is how to parallel park.
First off, I can't begin to tell you how much I despise parallel parking. So teaching someone how to do it, wow. Not the easiest thing in the world.
She would get mad at me for turning and invisible wheel while she would try to park, and I would get mad at her when she magically ended up in the middle of the street instead of parking the car.
Her other weakness is the possibility of children being on the sidewalk. Anytime there is a possiblity of a child of coming a foot near the road, my sister drives 5 miles per hour.
I could go on and on about how weird her driving habits are and all the fights and yelling that happen in the car because she didn't stop fully. But the end of the day there is one thing that I will always go back to when she struggles pulling into the garage. When she looks back, she will remember the times her big sister took her driving.
Living across the country, I miss a lot of my little sisters life, so having these memories to share with her, is really important to me and special.
So Kelsey, if you are reading this (which you better be), although I may complain, and I may not be the best big sister at the time, I really love hanging out with you and taking you driving.
But don't let that get to your head.
