Tea Tips: Calling All Tea Lovers And Tea Haters

Looking for a way to get rid of cramps, bloating, fatigue, gas, or a more effective way to exfoliate? Consider using herbal teas leaves. For centuries, herbs have been used in my family for everything. We rely heavily on natural herbs such as dandelion and chamomile to promote healthy digestion. These help with cramping and bloating. Back in Haiti, nearly everyone who owned a house grew herbal gardens. My mother and I plant them ourselves right in our own backyard.

Peppermint teas are one of my favorite teas. They help with migraines, bloating, and fatigue. Peppermint tea can also be used for weight loss. In fact, if you mix the peppermint tea with green tea, it helps increase your metabolism.

Herbal leaves can help treat many symptoms that we suffer from. If experiencing some form of anxiety, it may be advised to use old fashioned mint tea, chamomile tea, and lavender. The lavender helps relief anger and uplifts your mood. It also reduces muscle tension by relaxing the muscles and soothes the pain. The mint tea helps to relieve stress while the chamomile may help to prevent panic attacks.

If you are experiencing headaches, using peppermint and passionflower herbal teas tend to help relieve the pain. This is because passionflower is a calming herb; if you take it before bed it helps you sleep. Passionflower is found to lower anxiety as well. Taking peppermint tea helps relief headaches but is not recommended taking it before bed if you are prone to heartburn or stomach pains.

Herbs can be grown indoors or outdoors. Many kitchen gardeners relish the convenience of fresh herbs such as lemon balms, mint, parsley, rosemary, and thyme.

Herbs are also available in most stores and may come in many different forms such as instant tea bags, syrups, oils, liquid extracts and dry extracts. If debating on whether using herbal tea is worth it, consider this: herbs are cheaper than any pain relievers and they can be added to food for flavor.

Need to treat allergies, asthma, eczema, or an arthritis pain? Natural herbal teas can help with these common afflictions. In fact, it has been proven that by using herbal tea as a natural remedy, most people experience fewer side effects than those who do not use herbal teas.

Need to exfoliate your skin? Using black tea leaves can help smooth out the skin. By simply adding black tea leaves to the exfoliating process while washing the face and gently scrubbing the surface of the skin, the leaves help to clear out any dead cells.

Understand the history of herbs and be cautious of any irregular signs or discomfort that may arise from within the body. For those who are interested in beginning a journey using natural herbs in replacement of conventional medicine, it is always advised to consult with a trusted physician beforehand.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
