8 Reasons TCU Is The Best Big Twelve School

There is a lot of rivalry within the Big 12 schools–some more than others, but there has always been the question of which school is the best. Well, friends, I am here to tell you that TCU is the best. Here are a few reasons why:

TCU is located in the best state

TCU was founded in Texas, and the school’s location moved a few times before it settled in Fort Worth. Now, I’m sure you have heard the term “everything is bigger in Texas," and that is a true statement. We go BIG. Our football games are big, our homecoming is big, and our TCU spirit is big. Plus, there are many benefits to going to school in Texas. There’s a Sonic, Whataburger, and Chick-Fil-A at every turn. We have an amazing State Fair. You can travel to Austin to attend ACL or SXSW. You can go to San Antonio and revel in some American history down at the Alamo, or you can enjoy a nice night on the River Walk. Basically, Texas is awesome and full of endless possibilities.

And in the best city

TCU is located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. Many people think Dallas has a lot to offer, but Fort Worth has just as much, if not more. Fort Worth is FILLED with amazing restaurants—you can go to the Woodshed for an amazing meal on the Trinity River, or you can go to Rodeo Goat for one of the best burgers in Texas. You can go for an adventure at Billy Bob’s, which is the world’s largest honky tonk and a great time if you like to dance. There are so many festivals and community gatherings that go on throughout the year that you really feel at home. Fort Worth has an amazing community, and the city’s support and love for TCU is evident by all the purple you see around town.

The prettiest campus

TCU has a beautiful campus. There have been thousands of pictures taken at Frog Fountain with the beautiful Texas sunset in the background. The Commons is a winter wonderland in February, when we get a break from the Texas heat. Even the Amon G. Carter stadium has its own beauty, with thousands of fans rallying together to support their frogs.

The best on-campus events

Not every school gets free entertainment like TCU does. From the annual fall concert to SNL comedians, TCU provides its students with a ton of entertainment. TCU has brought in artists such as Jason Derulo, The Fray, and Hunter Hayes. It has brought in comedians such as Fred Armisen, Bo Burnham, and Dave Coulier. What other campus provides such big celebrities to hang out with their students?

The best programs of study

TCU has some of the best colleges contained within it. The Neeley School of Business is number 27 in the nation for best undergraduate business school, with 42 other accolades. The Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences is a popular major at TCU due to its outstanding program. The College of Fine Arts is an incredibly competitive and selective program, only recruiting the best of the best, and the Bob Schieffer College of Communication is a growing college within TCU. You may even spot Bob Schieffer teaching a class every once and a while.

The best football team

It’s no surprise that TCU has the best football team. For the 2014-2015 season, TCU was ranked number 2 in the country. That is an amazing accomplishment for a small private school in Texas. With the help of Coach Gary Patterson, Heisman Trophy nominee, Trevone Boykin, and the rest of the TCU horned frogs, we are hopeful for another great season.

The best colors

Let’s face it, TCU has the best colors out of every Big 12 school. Plus, purple looks good on everyone, so how can you not have some purple pride?

The best mascot

What other mascot can shoot a four-foot stream of blood out of its eyes? The horned frog has been depicted in Native American culture as powerful and respected creature. Though horned frogs may be tiny, they are fierce fighters. Therefore, it is the best mascot to represent TCU.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
