15 Reasons Why Taylor Swift Is The Role Model Of Our Generation

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the record-breaking album, it is safe to say that no one is over "1989" yet. Between the surprise celebrity appearances on tour to Ryan Adams' full-album cover that was recently released, "Style," "Bad Blood" and "Wildest Dreams" still play just about every day for a lot of us. For the small portion of the world population that does not enjoy some aspect of the album, Taylor Swift is there. She is everywhere. She isn't going away, either.

I think she is someone who everyone needs to embrace in some way or another. If not her music, embrace her fashion sense. If not her fashion sense, embrace her kind soul. If not her kind soul, embrace her killer girl-power mantra.

Here are 15 reasons why Taylor Swift is someone we should all aspire to be:

1. She is unapologetically herself. She knows that she's not a good dancer, yet she dances anyway.

2. She brings her girlfriends instead of her boyfriend to award shows. Her super successful girlfriends, may I add.

3. Her music has changed, but she has.n't "Tim McGraw" and "Wish You Would" sound totally different, but the lyricism and the personality behind them are the same.

4. She truly appreciates those who appreciate her. She does everything she can for those who love her, whether she knows them well or not.

5. She considers her fans her friends. All of the amazing things she has done for her fans speak louder than her monetary value.

6. She always keeps her family (and her high school best friend, Abigail) by her side. The tours, the countless number-one singles, even the daily grind of being Taylor Swift has not changed the relationship she has with her from-day-ones.

7. She wrote a number-one hit about how the media portrays her. Repeat: number-one hit.

8. She bites her lip sometimes to be the bigger person. This GIF sums this one up just fine.

9. She takes the criticism and hate with a grain of salt. She proves that being successful without some hate is impossible. You just have to "shake it off."

10. She channels her heartbreak into (loads of) success. A strong woman builds a wall with the bricks thrown at her, right, Tay?

11. She is a real person. She was not always the Taylor Swift we know. She was someone before we knew her, and she is not afraid to talk about that person.

12. She evolved into a superstar right in front of our eyes. We watched her grown from the curly-haired girl with the acoustic guitar to the straight-bobbed woman decked out in red.

13. She stays classy even when she's not in the spotlight. I mean, have you ever seen pictures of her walking around NYC?

14. She has a goofy side, too. Something we should all have.

15. And, the older we get, the more we realize she was right about everything.

About breakups:

About love:

About feminism:

About success:

About finding yourself:

Everything.

I bet it would be pretty hard to find another young, successful woman with as much insight and talent as Taylor Swift. She is a person all young women should aspire to be like.

I will listen to what she has to say any day.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
