An Honest Review of "Lover" | The Odyssey Online

I'm a BIG Taylor Swift fan but I mean who isn't? I've been following her since her first album, seen her in concert a few times, the whole big fan thing. This year she released her seventh studio album on August 23rd. Now that the album has been out for a little while and I've really had the chance to listen to it, here's what I honestly think about Taylor Swift's new album, "Lover".

I've noticed that since "Red", her 2013 album, was released she has completely blown up and there's no doubt why. Her music is so relatable to everyone no matter your situation. I will admit this album isn't my favorite but it does have some great bops.

The album starts with "I Forgot That You Existed" which I could jam to all day. Great choice to start the album with. It's super upbeat and fun. The next three songs to follow are also hits with "Cruel Summer", "Lover", and "The Man".

I know everyone loves this entire album and I don't disagree but there are a few songs I like more than others scattered throughout the 18 songs. Those songs include, "I Think He Knows", "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince", "Paper Rings", and "Soon You'll Get Better".

The hits that we've heard on the radio so far are "ME!" and "You Need To Calm Down" are actually at the end of the album which is very unlike Taylor's usual format. I'm not mad about it though because it gives a good pick-me-up at the end of the album.

While I said this isn't my favorite album of Taylor's I give her a lot of credit for her creation. This is the first time she's taken a political step in her music and I love it. She should be able to share her opinion in her music and take a stand for what she believes in.

You've done it again, girl! Great album as always.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
