On July 28th, 2018, Taylor Swift performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It was her third show at Gillette for the Reputation Stadium tour, which makes her the first female to perform three nights in a row EVER at that venue! When she casually mentioned that in her opening speech, the crowd erupted in a deafening roar. Everyone had goosebumps.
I've been a TS fan since she released "Tim McGraw" in 2006, which makes me a 12-year Swiftie. Including the show I just attended, I have seen 4 of Taylor's tours: Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation. While my favorite songs come off of Fearless, Speak Now, and Red, those concerts were not half as amazing as the show she performed just two weekends ago. I don't know what it was exactly, but the concert was by far the most life-changing show I've ever attended.
The songs on the album aren't her best (in my humble opinion), but she made up for that and then some at the show. Not only did she sing the tracks from REP, but she also sang throwbacks from previous albums, including "Should've Said No", "Lovestory", "Blank Space", "Ours", and "Style". Needless to say, the fans were emotional. This was the proof we all needed that the "old Taylor" isn't actually dead.
In addition to the superb mix of songs, the effects, instrumentals, interactions with the fans, videos between songs, choreography, the giant snake props, and everything in between were flawless. My friends and I were so in awe that we didn't even know what to say after the show. It was THAT good, guys! If you have the chance to attend one of her shows, do it. Just do it. Go in with whatever expectations you'd like, but be prepared to be blown away. Even though I'd like to say that I was the most excited for this tour, I wasn't; the songs weren't my favorite so the last thing I expected was to love the show. Your expectations can be high or low, but I promise you will not be disappointed.
To Taylor, from Taylor: thank you.
