Taylor Swift has been accused of exploiting her good deeds for positive publicity, but her gestures are generally personal and direct. She touches the lives of others and whether these acts of kindness are from the heart or a PR stunt, Swift makes her fans’ dreams come true.

It’s no wonder she’s taken the number one spot on DoSomething.Org’s most charitable celebrity list three years running.

Here is a glimpse into the amazing ways Taylor Swift has used her celebrity status to positively impact the lives of others.

She consistently donates money to fans and charities.

1. She sent a fan a check for $1,989 to help pay off her student loan debt.

2. She donated $50,000 to a young girl battling Leukemia. In doing so, she made GoFundMe raise their donation limit, as it was the highest donation ever received through the site.

3. Swift donated money and concert tickets to a school for deaf and blind children.

4. She gave all of the proceeds of her hit single “Welcome to New York” to New York City Public Schools.

5. After a tragic car accident, she donated to the family in need.

However, it’s not just money that Swift donates. She gives her time and effort to brighten the lives of sick fans.

6. She gave a concert to a six-year old fan battling Leukemia.

7. She also had lunch with a cancer-stricken fan and invited another fan battling cancer to the Academy Awards with her after he asked her to prom.

8. She even wrote a song entitled “Ronan” about a child dying of brain cancer and then donated the proceeds to fund cancer research.

She reaches out to fans and shows how much she appreciates their support and encourages them through social media.

9. For #Swiftmas2014, she sent fans personalized gifts and notes in the mail.

10. She also took the time to surprise a fan at her bridal shower.

11. Swift gathered fans and played them songs from her new album “1989” before it was released in what she called 1989 Secret Sessions

.

12. She gave a girl $90 out of her purse in Central Park to get Chipotle for the fan’s birthday.

13. She frequently uses her Instagram or Tumblr to reach out to fans with advice or compliments.

So, haters are gonna "hate hate hate hate hate" and try to say she's doing it for the spotlight, but Taylor Swift is just going to keep being sickeningly nice and spreading joy.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
