The Academy of Country Music Awards were last night and the performances were wonderful, but Taylor Swift's live version of "betty" from her newest album "folklore" really took the cake for me.
This was Taylor Swift's first time back at the ACMs in seven years and she exceeded expectations.
You might be thinking, "why did Taylor Swift even perform, she's not country anymore?" YES, that is true, however, "folklore" definitely has some songs that could be considered indie/country, including — and ESPECIALLY — "betty."
There has been a lot of fans promoting their rankings of "folklore" and "betty" is definitely at the top of a lot of lists, so it was only right for Taylor to perform such a fan favorite at the ACMs.
Her performance was absolutely perfect. "folklore" is a very stripped and simple album and the simplicity on stage right down to Taylor's makeup really brought the whole vibe together.
And let's be honest, any performance where Taylor Swift gets to bring her guitar on stage and it takes us back to TS1 and her older, beloved albums is a PHENOMENAL performance.
As a Swiftie myself, it's always really exciting to watch Taylor perform a song off of a new album live for the first time and this was no exception.
