This is a response to 5 Artists I Can't Get Enough Of Right Now.

Taylor Swift is a household name in the music industry, with a career spanning over a decade. She has won numerous awards, broken records, and impacted the industry in ways that few other artists have.

Taylor Swift is undoubtedly one of the most successful and influential musicians of our time. With over 200 million records sold worldwide, she has won numerous awards, including ten Grammy Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and 23 American Music Awards. Her success has not only cemented her place in the music industry but also made her a role model for young musicians.

Born in 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania, Taylor Swift began her career as a country singer at the age of 16. Her first album, Taylor Swift, was released in 2006 and was a huge success, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her second album, Fearless, released in 2008, took her career to new heights. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spent 11 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot. Fearless won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, making Swift the youngest artist ever to win the award.

One of the reasons for Swift's success is her ability to connect with her fans. Many of her songs are deeply personal, drawing on her own experiences and emotions. This has helped her build a loyal fan base who relate to her music and lyrics on a personal level. Her willingness to experiment with different genres and styles has allowed her to appeal to a broad range of listeners, with different eras that fans truly appreciate.

Another factor that has contributed to Swift's success is her business savvy. She has been involved in the production and promotion of her albums from the beginning, and has always been very hands-on when it comes to her career. She has also been vocal about issues such as artist's rights, streaming royalties, and the need for greater diversity in the music industry.

But Taylor Swift's impact on the music industry goes beyond her chart-topping albums. She has been a trailblazer in the industry, advocating for artists’ rights and speaking out against the unfair treatment of musicians by record labels. In 2019, Swift famously spoke out against her former label, Big Machine Records, and its owner, Scooter Braun, for buying her back catalog without her permission. She has been an outspoken supporter of the “Free Taylor” movement, which aims to give artists more control over their own music. She has also been an advocate for causes such as education, disaster relief, and LGBTQ+ rights. She has donated millions of dollars to various charities and has used her platform to raise awareness about important issues.

Taylor Swift is a trailblazer in the music industry, and her success is a testament to her talent, hard work, and business acumen. Her ability to connect with her audience and her willingness to use her platform to promote important causes have made her a role model for young musicians and fans alike. As she continues to evolve as an artist and a person, it's clear that she will continue to leave a lasting impact on the music industry and beyond.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
