A human body is a canvas that is clean when you are born. As you grow up, your body develops marks that tell a story. Behind every scar, there is a story of how you got it. Like the first time you fell down and your mom is there to kiss it better.
Or the first time you decided to be a daredevil and jump off the tallest cliff into the water. Stories behind each scar are different. It all ranges from each person. Tattoos can tell a story too.
People can get a tattoo that represents something they love or someone they love. I decided to get tattoos that explain how I developed as a person. Here are the stories behind each tattoo of mine that have or am getting.
This one really hits close to home. The year is messed up. It is supposed to be 12-23-02. I lost my best friend when I was just 6 years old. The day before Christmas Eve I found my mawmaw laying in her bed not being able to breathe.
She passed away later on that day when she went to the hospital. I told myself I will get something to always remember her by. I had her heart and she will always have a piece of mine. She was my best friend, my secret keeper, and the person who spoiled me so. I would give anything to talk to her one last time and show her how much I have grown.
My next tattoo was dedicated to my two best friends. We each have one on our right ankle. My best friends have been there for me through everything. From heartbreaks to me moving away off to college. Every time I look at the heart, I think of my best friends who have always been there for me.
This tattoo represents the day my life was changed for the better. It was the day I was baptized and reborn in Christ. February 14th, 2016 was the day I will never forget.
I became one with God. The scripture underneath it says "The Lord is my strength and shield...". I chose this scripture because it shows me that no matter what or where I go in life the Lord is always with me. He protects me no matter what.
This is my next tattoo. It represents the sun and moon. The moon is from a pendant that my father gave me when I was nineteen. Due to the tornado in March, I thought I had lost the pendant forever.
.So I decided to put it in a tattoo. The tattoo also represents my mawmaw who always told me I was her sunshine in the darkest days. I also am getting it because my mom always tells me I am her sunshine. My dad and she always told me they love me to the moon and back.
My tattoos tell my stories.
What tells yours?
