1. Nostalgia
A lot of people who watched "American Horror Story" saw a lot of nostalgia when they looked at Tate Langdon. He was your quintessential 90s-kid in a lot of ways; he wore flannel and loved the band Nirvana.
2. Childlike
This and his boyish charm are two traits that Tate Langdon shows throughout the “American Horror Story: Murder House” series. He seems to be filled with childlike wonder at one point, especially on Halloween when he can walk freely among the rest of the world.
3. Loving Brother
He really does seem to care about his family. The reason that he has a psychotic breakdown is because his mother convinced her lover to kill his brother. He loves his brother and the murder seems to trigger a psychotic episode.
4. Tate really does love Violet
When looking at season 8 of "American Horror Story", we have to take into account that he's done some pretty awful things. However, he doesn't want harm to come to Violet, and anytime he protects her and her little brother from the kids that come after him, the ghosts in the house try to take him.
5. Tate tries to take Violet’s life
When Violet dies, he does everything he can to save her. This ultimately results in him having to show Violet her body after the fact.
We are reminded of the truth, that we are all struggling daily with an internal battle between light and darkness. Maybe not to the extent at which Tate found himself, however, the struggle between good and evil is a very real aspect of human life.
