Calling all caffeine lovers!
It seems that every corner you turn in Charleston has another cozy coffee shop. Some coffee addicts have their go-to spots, while others like to explore and compare vanilla lattes from one place to another. Either way, you can't go wrong when choosing where to get your piping hot (or ice cold) joe!
1. Black Tap
Located at 70 Beaufain Street, Black Tap is a favorite here in Charleston. It has a very chic, clean vibe with its white walls and quaint bar seating. (We can't forget the cute picnic table in the middle!) Many local companies in Charleston will use Black Tap's coffee for their customers (like the downtown Cat Café)! Not only are their basic coffee flavors popular, but so are their unique ones.
"Black Tap's iced lavender lattes are to DIE for." - Krissy S.
2. Tricera Coffee
Many may say this George Street coffee shop is on the (tricera)top of the list! Pictures and figurines of Triceratops will make you feel as if you're about to sip a macchiato on set of "Jurassic Park." The scaly skin of a dinosaur may be pretty rough, but their coffee sure goes down quite smooth. Word on the street is that their breakfast is also to "roar" for!
3. The Rise
This Wentworth Street coffee shop has a rustic, city vibe that'll lure anyone in. The exposed brick, hanging light bulbs and popular "Rosemary Rise" in hand will make your coffee experience feel like one out of "Gossip Girl."
"The Rise is a classy pit-stop between classes for when I need an extra caffeine kick!" - Christina B.
4. Kudu
Kudu can potentially cure anyone's drink needs. This Vanderhorst street coffee shop is also a craft beer bar (with wine and mimosas, too)! We also can't forget carbs...lots of carbs: bagels, croissants and muffins galore! Some days they also close down for live performances.
"Kudu has a laid-back vibe that is the definition of a college coffee shop." - Alex H.
5. City Lights
Take a turn down Market Street to this tiny and cozy coffee shop, full of colorful chalkboards, lights and old, wooden furniture and walls. It's perhaps one of the coziest coffee shops in Charleston. They serve their coffee in colorful, traditional cups like the ones on "Friends!"
These are only a few of Charleston's most popular coffee shops. Obviously, if all of them were listed, you would be scrolling for a long time! Perhaps a coffee shop article part two will come? What are your favorite coffee shops in Charleston?
