No Relationship Will Ever compete With the Love I have for Target

No Relationship Will Ever compete With the Love I have for Target

If you are not an avid Target customer I feel sorry for you. But I also envy you in some ways because you probably don't spend as much money in one place as so many tend to do at Target.

The saying goes, "You don't go into Target knowing what you need, Target tells you what you need." Honestly, I've never related to something more. I could walk into Target with the intention of buying three things and walk out with ten and I know all of you that religiously shop at Target can relate to this.

Super Target has everything one could ever need. From clothing to groceries, to dog food, to toilet paper, to shelving for your apartment or dorm. In one trip to Target, you can get all of your basic necessities and then some. Whenever my shopping list includes a variety of items I know that Target is the first place I need to go because I can usually mark off most, if not all, items in one trip.

Me walking into Target.

I hate to say it but Target is really good at getting you to spend money. Everywhere you look there is a cute bathing suit or mug that you just HAVE to have. Whenever I receive a Target gift card, I know it's never going to last long because every time I go I end up finding something I need. And by need, I mean I just feel like if I don't have it my life will not be complete.

I purposefully avoid going to Target because I know that I'll spend way too much money and buy things I don't need. I could have a list of five things and tell myself I'll be in there for no more than 20 minutes and I walk out three hours later with a cart full.

Going to Target is dangerous for my bank account.

Also, did I mention the dollar section!? WOW. The dollar section continuously blesses my life with the cutest items that you never even thought you needed until that moment. If you don't visit the dollar section first when you get to Target, then you're doing it wrong. Sometimes you realize later on that things aren't exactly a dollar but at that point, you've already decided you're getting the item and you don't care what it cost.

Target is the end all be all. The only that could compete with Target is Costco but they're like two separate entities so it's not even a fair competition. Target is like the twin sister of Costco in a way but like fraternal twins, you know? I love Target and if it ever closes I honestly don't know what I would do with myself.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
