You know you haven't fulfilled your potential until you feel successful. Can you think of all the times you have felt successful? I imagine that I might feel successful if I saw a stack of all of the books that I have read in my life, piled up in front of me. I think we would all feel successful if we thought of a time when we first learned how to do something, whatever that something may be. An example is when someone first learns to do something new like whistling, blowing a bubble of gum, tying shoes, snapping and learning to drive.
I find that sometimes we don't fulfill our potentials because we don't want to. This correlates to not being motivated enough. It could also be that there is some external obstacle in our way that is keeping us from fulfilling our potentials. I mean, we really do limit ourselves when we don't push or test ourselves. For example, we consider walking a few miles a "walk" and then we are done. Have you ever wondered exactly how far you could walk in a whole day though? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you didn't stop and kept going?
So, that is my advice on tapping potential. It is something that is important to do. I think once we tap our potential, then good things will be in store for us.
