Tanning Tips & Tricks

I'm not an expert or a doctor, but, I have picked up my fair share of tips and tricks throughout my time as a tanning consultant in order to achieve a flawless color.

Tanning Tips & Tricks

1. Moisturize

This is so important in KEEPING your color looking flawless as long as possible. You're paying for a membership, so you want to get the most out of your color. It's always important to buy from a tanning salon so you can be aware of the ingredients you're putting on your skin. Plus, typical drugstore moisturizers cause your tan to fade faster.

2. Switching Beds

This is not commonly talked about among tanning salons, but switching beds will get you the most authentic color. The variation of the beds allows your skin to develop color. If you lay in the same bed every visit, the UV light is hitting those direct spots over and over again, so the skin isn't producing any darker color. But, allowing your skin to experience all levels of the different building and bronzing beds will help you achieve the best tan possible.

3. Time

Most customers are anxious for the quickest and darkest tan possible. It seems ridiculous to lay in the tanning bed for less than 5 minutes. But, the bulbs in the beds are strong and your skin is PRECIOUS. You do not want to overexpose your skin, so building up your tanning time over a few sessions will be most effective. This will avoid any burning and damage to the skin. Tanning can be harmful, but managing your exposure time is essential to keeping a bronzed, youthful look!

4. Lotion

Lotion is so important. Be very cautious of the product your putting on your skin (Again, buy from a tanning salon!). You want to invest in a quality tanning lotion made specifically for your skin type. This is the safest way to protect your skin and get a good, bronzed color. Lotions in tanning salons run at a typically high cost, but the products are filled with endless benefits, including anti-aging, important vitamins, and more.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
