If you have been living under a rock you may not know what "Tanacon" was or who Tana Mongeau is. Let me fill you in.

Tana Mongeau is known for her brutally blunt storytime videos on Youtube and has become a social media influencer on the internet. She recently explained in a YouTube video that she was kicked out of Vidcon and was treated extremely badly. So in retaliation, she decided that she was going to throw her own Vidcon.

She named it "Tanacon." She was going to have featured Youtubers or " Featured Creators" such as James Charles, Shane Dawson, TheGabbieShow, and so many more.

She even decided that Vidcons prices were too high so she had a free admission option and a VIP Option which would be $65 dollars for a "fast pass" to see your favorite creators. To try to get on Vidcons bad side she placed her event 5 minutes down the block from Vidcon, on the same weekend, at the exact same time. That was a red flag for a disaster to already come.

The event planning company she decided to work with was Good Times and it is run by a 21-year-old. A. 21. year. old. He was to plan this entire weekend event for upwards of 5,000 people and several featured creators.

When the event started that weekend it was pure chaos. It only lasted one day because it was terribly run. They had thousands of people in lines wrapping around to nowhere sitting in the LA sun for hours. Some people reported that they stood in the sun for 4-5 hours and never even got into the event after paying $65 for their VIP passes.

There also was no water provided at all so several people were getting dehydrated. Injuries were happening as well, for example, one girl was carried out on the stretcher because she had been pushed on the ground once the door was open for a few of the line to go into the venue.

The venue space was also a very large problem because it could only technically fit around 1,300 people, but they sold tickets to 5,000 people.

(Later Tana tried to say that one of the reasons that this fell apart was that 15,000 people showed up who did not have tickets, but the fire department recently put out out a statement saying that it was only 4,000-5,00 people.)

People who paid nothing were just given VIP access passes and were let into the small hotel event room where they would all be shoved in a room for 30-40 minutes at a performance or creator that they didn't even particularly want to see or chose and then they were thrown out of the event right after. As they were being shoved out or standing in line they received a Tanacon bag that was promised to be worth more than "quadruple the cost" of the VIP ticket but only contained a few cheap stickers, a condom, a bracelet, and a few coupons to some local restaurants.

VIP tickets had the access to RSVP for specific creators they were wanting to see, but some creators talked about the fact when they looked up certain VIP pass holders names that they weren't even on the list that was sent to them. A few event goers vlogged the entire experience and explained that they had driven and flown miles and miles to see some of their favorite featured creators and they didn't even get in.

At the current moment, people are wanting refunds and explanations as to why and what happened? Was this Tana's fault? Should we blame the event organizer?

Should you be upset with the featured creators that didn't ask questions about the event and just signed up? I believe that it's all up to your own opinion. I think that it is a little bit Tana's fault for bad planning and not researching the company she was working with, but it was also the event coordinator Good Times who really screwed these devoted fans over.

All in all, Tanacon was an absolute disaster and I hope some people learn a big lesson from all of this.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
