Mojo Books & Records: Bookstore. Record store. All under one roof.

This local coffeehouse is filled with indie vibes in a cozy atmosphere with the benefit of free WiFi. Spend an hour or two rummaging through their vast collection of used records, books, DVDs & CDs, and turntables.

Mojo's sells coffees and teas made in house, from scratch. They’re vegan friendly too! For limited time they'll be serving the specialty flavored syrups of rose petal and lavender, which can be added to most of their milk drinks and combined with one of their baked goods.

They often hold live shows or community events such as the upcoming Stranger Things vinyl release party & concert on October 28 @ 8 p.m

Felicitous coffee & tea

This dog-friendly coffeehouse with optional outdoor seating is located in a renovated home with free WiFi. Decorated in artwork, Felicitous’ walls are made and sold from local artists.

Walk up to the outdoor window to order from their menu of coffees, teas & paninis.

Voted one of Tampa's 5 Best Coffee Shops by The Culture Trip, Felicitous displays funky and retro decor that accentuates its eclectic Boho vibes.

When they're not hosting open mic nights that are held the last Wednesday of every month, they'll have an atmosphere in which, “The music switches from EDM to Motown with little rhyme or reason, unless someone is playing a guitar in the corner or outside on the huge patio that serves as the place to chat with friends or cram for finals,” as the Tampa Tribune raves.

Bobacup: Quick Asian Cafe

In this little Asian cafe there Taiwanese tea based beverages with little tapioca balls or fruit jellies that come in a variety of flavors known as boba/bubble tea.

Not only do they serve the traditional Taiwanese milk teas, they also have a vast array of fruit teas, slushes, snows, “mocha blasts”, Vietnamese iced coffee, loose-leaf teas and an overwhelmingly long list of specialty drinks.

I have yet to try their new online ordering service and I'm especially excited to try their lunch menu (served from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday) consisting of meals like Grilled Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Pad Thai or the Sriracha Cream Chicken!

Follow them on their instagram to be the first to hear of their promos and try their new flavors. Maybe you’ll even get lucky enough to get on their insta page!

Kaleisia Tea Lounge

Another local favorite, Kaleisia serves specialty teas that are described as being “selectively sourced from around the world” teas. They also serve vegan & gluten-free food perfect for a light snack or a healthy lunch

The tranquil atmosphere is perfect for studying or just having a chill conversation with a friend whether you're relaxing on the outdoor patio or inside the Japanese tea room. This unique Japanese tea room was custom-made by a local carpenter and designed to reflect the traditional Japanese-style room.

Kaleisia also provides events like their Monday night Live Jazz sessions, Sunday afternoon CommuniTea Yoga, Monday afternoon Happy Hour and more! Check out their calendar to view their daily events!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
