After spending a little over two years in Tallahassee, I've been to some great spots that make the "food favorites" list. If you're stuck on where to eat, look no further! Below, you can find a place for every occasion and food type. Happy eating, everybody!
The Southern Public House
Where rustic meets chic, the dining experience here is southern (go figure) and hospitable. The Southern makes you feel like you live in a very cool metro area and you really have it together.
The Egg Cafe & Eatery
Five-star rating from every casual brunch lover that’s ever existed. You wanna get there early because it’s always busy.
Kool Beanz Cafe
Speaking of brunch, you can eat that here too! Then come back for more seafood and sides at dinner. They serve beer and wine only, but still, it’s beer and wine.
The Edison
The illuminated and refreshing atmosphere of the Edison fits perfectly in Cascades Park. Every month they hold their Wine Collection Series where you can try international fare that has been paired with wine. Eat here on that night.
Tally Thai
For anyone who has ever had Thai and liked it. If you’ve never had it, let Tally Thai be the reason you do. Sushi people will also like this place.
Paisley Cafe
Think chicken salad and shrimp and grits. Set up like a market café, Paisley is refreshing and quaint. Bring Mom here when she’s in town.
Jenny's Lunchbox
Because Waffle House just won’t cut it this morning. And you’re hungover with only $10.
Joe Mama’s
Italian, wood-fired pizza served with smoked, caramelized, roasted, and fresh toppings. It's not like the kind that’s delivered in a cardboard box.
The Sweet Pea
Health nuts, this place is your heaven. If anything is vegan, organic, local, and edible, you can find it on this menu.
Black Dog Café
Browse the internet, read a book, play a board game, and bring your dog! If anything, it can be your excuse for that third cup of coffee today.
Jim & Milt’s BBQ
Picnic tables and the red and white checkered paper thing they put on the bottom of the fried okra basket define this place. And barbecue because it tastes really good here.
Metro Deli
Real quick and real casual, the best melts on Monroe are eaten here. As well as subs, wraps, sandwiches, and cookies.
Andrew’s Capital Grill and Bar
The menu features all sorts of all-American food and options are also available to the vegetarian family at table twelve! Central to downtown Tallahassee, this place never fails as a go-to.
