Talking To Myself: A Personal Poem

Believe me when I say I've

never

had a bad dream before.

If enough people believe in something

coming together in support

maybe my subconscious will take note and

surrender the

war.

I never realized I needed to remind me

that life isn't peachy just because each day

I'm sure to lock every emotional door and

tuck each feeling away.


Believe me when I say I'm so

proud of who I am,

so maybe you can be

proud, and

lend those feelings my way, too.

I never liked the way I

plant the fruits for those

allergic to

strawberries;

What a very wrong

thing to do.


But as long as I'm trying

I don't need belief from you,

I love tasting the strawberries

and the

dreams

that make me

you.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
