Professors are your greatest asset as a college student! Some of the best advice I've gotten about college so far is to get to know my professors, in class or in office hours.
1. They've seen a lot of things!
Your teachers have been students before, and they teach a lot of other students, so they have pretty good insight and advice that you should seek out!
2. They can help you understand your class!
They are LITERALLY experts in their field, so they are the best people you can go to if you need help in your class. Go to those office hours!
3. They just have really interesting stories.
One of my favorite things to do is listen to my Psychology professor's personal stories of how the things we are learning relates to her personal life. Or about my Biology professor's research and work with reptiles. It makes those classes so much more fun!
4. Networking
Whether it's a letter of recommendation or a job opportunity, a professor can help get you places after college, especially those teaching in your major or field.
5. Better Grades/Extra Credit
If you're lucky, and a teacher really likes you, you could have a better chance of passing the class! Some may even give you extra credit if you play your cards right.
