Eagle Summit is not your average orientation. I didn't really know what to expect going into this two day extravaganza of Freshman. It was weird at first seeing people you have only heard about in GroupMes. People are definitely different when you just see their face in their GroupMe profile pictures. I had a wonderful reunion with multiple friends I have been talking to these past few months. Having a clean slate is refreshing, knowing that I am in a place where I am going to thrive. Walking around from building to building all over campus where I will be for four years made me (for the first time in my life) truly excited for school. Now do not quote me on this when it is Midterm and Final week. I have heard from past freshman that there is a lot of crying during exam weeks.
Walking through the university as one of their own was an amazing feeling. Not so amazing was the water pressure in Anderson Hall. It felt as if you put the hose on that one pressure that hurts like a b*tch. The food was great but to be real I only had the pasta. But they have an ice cream bar! Also a waffle machine the Leslie Knope inside of me screamed for joy. Freshman 15 is now something I know will happen to me. I am welcoming it with open arms. I did fall asleep a few times during some of the presentations, this I am not proud of. Everyone did at one point or another to be honest so I should not feel that ashamed of my action. Though I did enjoy my orientation group it would get extremely awkward at times. Kind of like scared bunnies in a cage at the pet store is the only way to describe the first few hours of my orientation group. This I believe happens to every orientation group in the history of college orientation. Meeting Clawed Z Eagle was a blast. Never thought I could love a mascot as much as I love Clawed.
All in all I had a fabulous time with great people. I never appreciated naps more than I did at orientation.
