We all have those friends who seem like they have to take a picture of everything. Every meal, every drink, every outfit, every activity, every single pretty thing they see.

They are saving the memories. Yes, there are those narcissists who just do it for the likes, but assuming your friends are a little less full of themselves, they are doing it for the memories.
We are so lucky to have all these different forms of saving and sharing information. Computers, cell phones, and more can save gigabytes of data for years to come. We can look back years into the past and see all of the posts we shared on social media.
Your friend is just stockpiling memories!

That friend brunch you had together? Those blueberry waffles remind them of how much fun you had that day. The first baseball game you went to together? That selfie reminds them of how much you bonded that night over nachos and your favorite sport. Remember that shopping trip to the mall? Your friend does, they save the picture you took holding your pretzels together.

Millennials are always getting knocked on for playing on their phones too much, but its not always useless mind melting stuff. Yes, we take too many pictures of avocado toast, but the reason for some of us is quite wholesome.

Social media is blamed for ruining relationships and for a place to post pictures just for personal satisfaction. It is true, likes and views are very sought after, but social media sites have another underrated purpose. They save memories. It's an amazing function that not as many people realize. It's a blessing for people with terrible memories.

In the future, you can look back at everything you achieved, all the hardships you went through, the times you felt broken, and the times you felt higher than a kite!
So next time you get annoyed by your friends who take too many pictures, remember they're stocking upon memories for when the time comes that you aren't around. Just smile and be thankful you have a friend who cares that much about you.
