There are many opportunities in life that catches our eye. It could be something as simple as picking up a rock for your collection or flying to a distant land to dance around the rim of a volcano. No matter what the opportunity may be, we have a choice to make; go for it or don't. Sometimes this choice is easy, but we know that this isn't always the case. Picking up that pretty rock on the ground next to you seems pretty safe. Dancing around the volcano seems like a great opportunity to die (if you ask me).
I am usually not one for making risky decisions (at least not when they count). I would probably be more likely to chase after a wild deer before I decide to go audition for some singing or acting gig. Sure, I love deer, but I love theatre more. Sometimes, we are so concerned with social or emotional self-preservation that we ignore what our hearts are asking for. It is sort of like neglecting to eat because you are afraid to burn your tongue when there is food right in front of your face.
It is scary following your dreams. You will try to find every excuse why you can't do something. Maybe even other people are telling you that you can't do it. I understand. I live this every day. People tell me no every day. People also told Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, and Todrick Hall the same thing. Did they listen? Obviously not if we have know the speed of light, have IPhones and MACs, and have amazing music from someone who was obviously snatched by the Gods. Point of the story is that taking risks is sometimes worth it.
