When Do You Take Down the Christmas Tree?

And what exactly this says about YOU.

You're sitting on the couch, your belly stuffed and your Christmas list fulfilled. Now it's time to decide: When are you going to take down the tree? In a couple hours, a couple days, or a couple months? Here's some of the typical times people pack away their Christmas decor and what it reveals about their personality.

Please note that the following is not actually a psychological review of personalities, but rather was made up by yours truly.

1. The Night of Christmas Day

You're a real stickler aren't you? You like traditions, but in a timely manner. You are also very protective of your personal space, which shows when you're tossing the tree back in the box, still burping from Christmas dinner. As soon as the relatives left, it was sayonara pal! We'll see ya next year.

2. A Couple Days after Christmas

You like to at least get all the presents handed out before you take down your faithful tree. Waiting a few days before taking down the tree shows that you care about others and put their needs before your own. You also probably put the tree up November 1st, which shows you like to plan ahead, and hate being late.

3. After New Year's

Waiting until after the new year has arrived to take down the tree shows you're a traditionalist, and also very superstitious. While others criticize your decision to wait, you know that if you took the tree down any earlier or later, your whole year would be off. It's like a sacrifice to the New Year's God when you take down the tree.

4. You have a living tree, and you wait until it dies naturally before tossing it.

You're a compassionate person and you care about all living things. Rather than throwing out your tree right away, you let it live out its final days within the warmth of your home. After tossing it however, you immediately regret your decision at the sight of all the pine needles on your floor. But hey, that's what brooms are for, right?

5. You really have no timeline of when to take down the tree, so it stays up until at least March.

You've got a free spirit, and you seem to like to step outside the boundaries every once in a while. You love being spontaneous, and it shows! Sure, taking down the Christmas tree is a simple task, but who wants to do something simple when you could be skydiving?

6. What do you mean take down the Christmas tree?!

You're a true Christmas lover, and a child at heart. Much like Buddy the Elf, every day is Christmas for you! You're worry-free, and your positivity is contagious to others. You know that when this Christmas ends, there's only 364 more days until next Christmas, and you'll be ready for it! Woohoo!!

With all the different people who celebrate Christmas each year, it makes sense that we all have our own timeline for taking down the tree, and other decorations. Which one of the six listed above best describes you?

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
