Starting a whole new semester can be very stressful. This is because you have to deal with new teachers, new people, and so many other things. The transition between each semester can lead to unwanted anxiety and stress. This semester I learned a lot from my teachers without even opening a book and it has helped me realize that sometimes we should not worry about what is to come next and just have faith that it will all work out.
As many may know I took 15 credits this summer. Those classes were very stressful and by the end of the summer I needed a break. When entering this semester I was worried that I would not like these classes or that they would be very hard. It is understandable that these classes would be more difficult since I am entering my Junior year of college. The first day of classes were scary, but they did not need to be.
Even though each class is totally different, they helped me realize that when you get past a certain point in your college career, at least from my experience, it does get better. A lot of my teachers have experience in the field of criminology. Whether that is working in a prison or actually being a police officer. These teachers have a different way of treating the classroom. They share experience and examples from their career which helps you follow the book.
The major thing that I learned is that teachers are here to help and care for their students. For some people, that might be obvious, for others that might not be. I believe that once you get past the prerequisite classes, the field changes and your college experience changes. So to the Freshman and others who have to finish the prerequisite classes, do not worry. It will get so much better. The classes will be smaller and your outlook on college will change.
The final words that I can say is that good luck to everyone this semester and I hope that you are able to enjoy your college experience. Whether you are a Freshman, Transfer Student, or returning, get pumped because college will be the best part of your life.
