I recently ended my first spring break trip as a college student; my friends and I drove down and stayed in Panama City Beach, Florida for four of the most fun nights of my life so far. With five of us in the group, the total cost of the trip was only a couple hundred dollars for each person.
I know finding money can be hard when going to college, but if you can manage to scrape it together, I highly recommend taking a trip — even if it is only a few states, or even a few towns, away.
I promise it will be worth every penny spent.
If you can, do your best to go with some friends. There is nothing wrong with traveling with your family, but spring break is best enjoyed with a few of your besties by your side. Friends are just a different type of fun than family, if you catch my drift.
We only have about four years of being in college, which also means only four years of spring breaks.
I believe it is important to take advantage of being young and having the opportunity to take a week and travel. Once the real world comes, with its full-time jobs and responsibility, this chance will disappear.
You do not even need to meticulously plan every detail. All you need is a hotel and a destination and you’re good to go. A good way to save money is driving, even if it takes more time.
You will not ever regret deciding to take a trip. The only regrets will come from the trips you did not take and the chances you missed.
Spring break just might be what everyone was talking about when they said college is the best time of your life. Don’t miss it.
