Here's one thing you may or may not know about me.

I LOVE Christmas.

Not just love it like normal people, but I am utterly obsessed with it. There's no better atmosphere than Christmas, and if the atmosphere was a spirit, then I'm one of the holiest.

I've been wearing Santa earrings since August, and I've been waiting to wear those Christmas sweaters all freaking year.

It's a holiday like no other.

And one thing that comes with Christmas is all the gift giving for friends, family...and your Secret Santa.

I personally love Secret Santa because I love getting gifts anonymously (at least anonymous for a little bit), and I love getting gifts for other people. Just another huge part of the Christmas spirit that I mentioned earlier.

The tricky part is knowing the person well enough to find out hints about what they like. Sometimes you're in a huge group with other people, and you draw the one person that you don't know that well but now you're stuck getting them a gift.

It's okay, because you can talk to other people about that person and find out what they like.

But now you've ruined the surprise! Now that person that you've talked to knows that you didn't choose them, and they've narrowed it down to one less person that didn't draw them.

Now, normal people don't really care. As long as you don't find out who actually got you, then it's really not a big deal.

Well, I'm not normal.

If one single person asks me for advice on what to get their person, I don't like it because now you know that person didn't get you and you can narrow it down.

I DON'T WANT TO NARROW IT DOWN.

I want to be completely surprised and have no knowledge whatsoever of who has me.

So when people ask me if I know who got them...NOPE. When people ask me what they should get their person...NOPE. When people ask me to share who I got "as long as it's not me"....NOPE.

I am not ruining any surprise, and I will not conform to the social construct of this game and sharing secrets with other people. I WILL NOT GIVE IN.

Okay...maybe it's not that serious, but you get my point.

May the secret be with you.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
