Since Thomas Rhett Akin’s music video for “Die a Happy Man” came out in mid-September, girls everywhere (undeniably including myself) have been reasonably swooning over the country gentleman. All I know is that if I were Lauren Akins, his undoubtedly flawless wife, I would probably spend the rest of my life searching for the words to respond to this love letter of a song. So what exactly is "Thomas Rhett" Akins doing to make us all swoon? Guys, listen up.
1. He shares wine with her.
Girls love wine. How basic, right? Get over it. Accept it. It’s basically college girl law. Girls enjoy (or at least act like they enjoy) going out with you and getting a couple of beers. It’s the same thing! Embrace it. You know you like the wine, too.
2. He dances with her in the rain.
Girls usually aren’t too fond of the rain. It ruins good moods and destroys good hair days. However, thanks to "One Tree Hill" and "The Notebook," every single one of us dreams about kissing or dancing with our favorite guy in the rain. It’s cute, classic, romantic, and sure to make us swoon.
3. He literally admits that all he needs is her love.
Honesty is always the best policy, and communication is key in any kind of relationship you’ll ever have. After all, who doesn’t love to be told that they’re loved? Thomas Rhett is not just straightforward about loving his girl, but he even tells her that he loves her “crazy love,” because we all know (and admit) that love can make us a little crazy at times.
4. He tells her that the Northern Lights and the Eiffel Tower are nothing compared to her.
The Northern Lights and the Eiffel Tower?! A.k.a. two of the most visited and breathtakingly beautiful places in the world?! Are nothing compared to who... me?! Excuse me while I faint from feeling so adored.
5. He acknowledges two different outfits of hers and compliments them both.
Just like guys love being complimented on their cars or favorite sports teams, girls love being complimented on their outfits. It is such a wonderful and flattering feeling when someone acknowledges the little things you put effort in to, and believe me, finding the right outfit is hardly ever an easy job.
6. He makes being called “hot” a little more okay by also calling her a saint, a goddess, the cutest and a masterpiece.
Being called “hot” is almost unflattering in this day and age. I would rather receive a compliment on my non-existent Crocs than be called “hot” because of my physical appearance. However, if someone ever called me a saint or a goddess, I would probably laugh and ask if they were serious, and then be ridiculously flattered.
7. He is content with staying at home, listening to the radio, and possibly dancing around the fire with her.
Life seems to stay at a go-go-go pace these days, and time seems to fly by even faster when you're with the one you love. This makes any amount of time spent just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company so, so important and meaningful.
There you have it, boys. Take notes from Thomas Rhett and you’ll have girls swooning over you in no time. A couple of guitar lessons and a big boat wouldn’t hurt, either.
