Take A Minute | The Odyssey Online

Take a minute. Breathe. You have a lot going on, but don't let it consume you. Don't let the weight on your shoulders break you. It's a lot I know. And I know how it wears you down. I know the drain you feel, the damage that's done, the time that's gone. But you can do this. Just take a minute. Breathe.

No one knows the stress that you endure. No one knows the hours you devote. No one knows everything you do. They will not sympathize even if you tell them because they just don't know. They won't expect less of you. They won't extend a shred of grace to you. Because your problems are not theirs. I guess this is the real world. Devoid of compassion for you and your struggles. But you are strong.

You can conquer your mountains all on your own. You can prove them wrong. You can show everyone that said you couldn't, that you can and you will. They are waiting for you to fail. They are waiting to say I told you so. To watch you break. Do not give them this satisfaction. Your success will be your revenge.

Your revenge for all the words they have said, the wounds they have inflicted, the hurt that has scarred you. You will press on. You will move past them, your eyes forward and upward, blind to those who would ensnare you in traps and wild chases. You press on.

The load is a heavy one. Yet with each step, you get stronger. Because you prove to yourself that you can. The journey is fraught with ups and downs, roots and rocks, terrors, and falls. Yet there is also great beauty. There are moments that will take your breath away. So carry your stone to the top of the mountain. Complete the task set before in spite of those against you.

Do it for yourself. When you need a moment, take a moment. Just never give up. When all seems lost just close your eyes and breathe. In and out. In and out. In and out. Do this for yourself. Take a minute. Look at everything before you, and set it all back into the correct perspective. Nothing is everything. One thing will never define you. Because you have multitudes within you. You are everything you have done and will become everything you will do. So don't let a moment consume you. Don't sacrifice your multitudes for a single second of being overwhelmed.

You can do it all. Some may say you can't but you can do anything you set your mind and heart to. Be wholly present in each minute. Throw yourself at your every task. And succeed with grace. Not every second will be pretty, but you can do this. Do not let someone or something tell you, you can't. Just press on, and when things get hard, take a minute. Breathe. And keep moving.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
