Why You Need To Stop And Smell The Roses
Katy Scott

Over time, I have realized that there are certain things in life that are important, and certain things that just aren't. In an age of technology, sometimes we lose sight of anything that doesn't have a touch screen. I love social media as much as the next person, but it's just not cutting it anymore. This is why I have realized that we need to go back to our roots and get back outside. The world around us is what is the most important, and virtual worlds online shouldn't be given as much attention as they are. Nature has so much to offer us if we just get out there and look, and its really remarkable if you do.

These are just a few of the many things that happen if you put away Facebook, and put yourself into the world.

You notice the plants

They are beautiful and complex creatures! Whether its a huge tree with a million leaves or a tiny rose bud, they are living and growing constantly.

You can actually smell happiness

I swear the smell of a sunny day with a slight breeze is happiness in scent form.

There are things that are explainable

When I see mountains, a pond, or even the ocean I am taken back by how vast and gorgeous these things are. You have to be there in person to really take in the beauty, and pictures can't do justice.

You actually see God's work

When you start to look and I mean really look at the world around you it really makes you feel closer to the person who created it all. I get blown away by how amazing nature is, and how it all came to be.

There is so much to do

Whether it be walking through a beautiful landscape, dancing in the rain, or sunbathing, there is always something that you can be doing outside.

So my advice to you is to stop and smell the roses every once in while and remember just how awesome the world we live in is.
