1. I'm not organized at all

During my first year of college, the word 'organized' wasn't in my vocabulary. I mean, seriously, you should have seen my backpack- there were torn and crumpled up notes everywhere. Plus, one time I had to study for a biology exam, and I couldn't find my lecture notes anywhere, but it turns out that I wrote them in my statistics notebook. With digital note-taking, it allows you to become more organized because of the fact that they are all stored in one app.

2. It helps save the environment

There will be no need to purchase new notebooks or supplies after every quarter or semester. I mean why waste your money? You already have a note-taking app and other essentials, so that means you're already set for the new term. With that in mind, you are also saving the planet at the same time.

3. I prefer online PDFs over physical version of textbooks

I dislike purchasing physical textbooks not only because of the price, but how heavy they are, which is why I depend on the PDF or online version, if it is available. With the PDF or online version, I can open it on one tab and open my note taking app on another! You can even search for a term or explanation easier and faster on online PDFs, rather than flipping through hundreds of pages.

4. Your backpack load will be lighter

You can just bring your tablet, stylus, laptop, probably extra paper and utensils, and nothing more than you really need to class. All of your lecture notes and textbooks are digitized anyways, which won't ruin your posture due to how heavy they are. Your back will thank you a lot.

5. You can watch Netflix or YouTube while taking notes, too!

As an avid anime and Korean drama binge watcher who thrives to do their best in school at the same time, many of my classmates have asked me, "how do you catch up on your shows while having time to study?" Well, the secret is that I have a tab open on one side of my iPad while writing up my notes on the other tab...multitasking at its finest, right? To be honest, I don't do this as much as I used to because I get distracted easily.

6. You are able to customize your notes

I don't like the idea of purchasing writing utensils or other supplies to make my notes cute, however, with digital notes you have the ability to change the text font, ink color, type of paper, and even insert diagrams from the internet or any powerpoint all in one app! Personally, making my notes look aesthetically appealing makes me more motivated to study for an upcoming exam and allows me to become creative at the same time, even as a digital artist.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
