There are only so many minutes in a single day.

Take a second to think about this — there are eight billion people on this earth. Then, think about the vastness of the Earth. Take it one step further — the vastness of the universe. All the planets, stars, galaxies — the discovered and the undiscovered. Then scale it all back to you. One person, one life, a unique combination of goals, aspirations, and talents. When you think about the vastness of the universe it sometimes can make you feel a bit insignificant.

Life is fleeting, death is a part of life. BUT, you are SIGNIFICANT and yes, you are only here for a certain amount of time, so use those minutes and hours to savor the moments and impact those around you.

It has become apparent to me, from a young age, that sometimes we lose people too young for reasons we do may not ever understand. Sometimes I tend to forget how quickly life can come and go.

How fragile we really are.

How temporary we are.

How fleeting life truly is.

I think a lot of time we forget to tell those around us we love them. We forget that today might be our last. We forget the true more of temporary. Don’t run away from emotions and feel them fully. Expresses them in a raw way. Embrace everything you have and do not take it for granted.

Put it like this: 80 years, that is 42,048,000 minutes, 29,200 days, and 959 months. Those numbers are shockingly brief. However, those minutes can be utilized for adventures, family, and friends. Treat each day like it may be your last.

Life is fleeting. Savor it. Enjoy it.

Treat it with respect.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
