I Moved Back To My Home Town, And I Don't Regret It
Just because you move back for a little while, doesn't mean you are stuck there forever.
I always hear people talking about how they moved back to their hometown and how they aren't happy with the decision they made, or that they wish they would have gone somewhere else, and I totally understand where they are coming from.
I have always wanted to move to a different state, actually all the way to New York City. Sometime this year though, I realized that right now I wasn't ready for such a big move and that's perfectly okay.
I see no shame in moving back to the place where you grew up if that is what you want to do. I really wanted to be able to be close to my friends and family, since I have lived away at college for some time.
It still doesn't feel like I've really moved back, and it feels like I should be heading back to my college town any time now. It has been absolutely fantastic though to be able to drive over to my loved ones any time I want.
One of the negative parts of moving home have been that people assume I've given up on my dreams to move to New York, which I haven't at all. It can get kind of overwhelming to constantly have people ask you what you are doing with your life or what your long term plan is, when you don't even know for yourself.
Overall, I am happy with my decision to move home and I am not going to let others opinions and questions get me down! I know that I still have my entire life to get out of my hometown and do what I've always dreamt of, and I'm in no rush to do so. The only thing we can do is live our life and let people assume!
