11 Shows Every Future Lawyer Watches
These aren't your basic shows, either.
Obviously, I'm a Political Science major and I 100% plan on going to law school following my undergrad years. Recently, I've started preparing for my LSAT and other practice tests so I'm reading, studying, and watching these 11 shows...
1. For The People
This show is nice because the actors are all playing characters barely older than I am, so it's a nice refresher from other lawyer shows.
2. Evil Genius
This is a confusing (twisty) series, that can force you to practice connecting evidence, suspects, and multiple cases.
3. How To Get Away With Murder
This is probably the most dramatic fictional series, but it's interesting to see the big, the bad, and the cover-ups.
4. Making A Murderer
Making A Murderer is hard to watch sometimes, watch and you'll see why.
5. The Good Fight
If you love badass women (who doesn't), watch The Good Fight.
6. Designated Survivor
Designated Survivor is just freaking awesome. I wish Tom Kirkman was my president.
7. American Crime
American Crime is fictional, but shows very real modern issues. Watching a fictional show usually leads people to get more educated on subjects that it portrays, which is important for ANYBODY to do!
8. Casting JonBenet
Casting JonBenet takes a look from multiple different angles: evidence, prosecutors, friends, etc. Everybody has a different idea of what happened, so what is yours?
9. The American Revolution
So, if you're like me... you have a dad that grounded you and only allowed you to watch this show whilst being grounded. Look at me now, almost a lawyer. (Obviously, he did something right!)
10. Black Mirror
Need to improve your cognitive thinking skills? Welcome to Black Mirror.
11. The Last Defense
If you haven't heard of Darlie Routier, please go watch this ASAP.
These shows all give you something different. Maybe one makes you get inside the head of a criminal, while the other teaches you how to connect the dots. Each of the shows (while some fictional) gives you different skills to develop, while being 'entertained' and stimulated. Definitely check these shows out!
