Embracing Your Emotions Isn't Just Healthy, It's Liberating
What's the point of living if the idea of feeling is off-limits?
In today's day and age, it seems pressure is increasing to such an amount that any perfectly stable person could pop at any given moment with little warning. On the opposite side, the tides are changing to where the general public is less and less tolerant of any display of genuine emotion or sensitivity. This society is getting increasingly stressful, yet its elders wish to enforce the idea that showing any sign of emotion makes one weak. What's going on here?
Being straightforward about your feelings isn't weak, but courageous.
When surrounded by such harsh criticisms from the unfeeling people of the outside world, it is beyond easy to give in and allow ourselves to shut ourselves out. If we're only going to get hate for trying to share our feelings with those in our communities, why bother sharing anything at all?
The thing is, having the ability to embrace your sensitive side is stronger than refusing to acknowledge it. The issue that many of these negative people are dealing with is that they lack the ability to empathize with what you are dealing with, so they don't understand it and want to stop it. All of us are guilty of bashing things that we find unfamiliar at times, simply because they are different. That doesn't make it right, but it offers an explanation as to why others do the same to us.
Make the most of your gift - don't hide it within your psyche.
If we weren't meant to share our deeper sides with those around us, we wouldn't be given the ability to. Emotions are ours to utilize in order to sympathize with the struggles of loved ones, allowing us to encourage them through the darkest of times and to trust that they will do the same for us. Imagine a reality where every single person bottles their emotions inside themselves, giving the demons in their hearts the keys to their brains. Sooner or later, the buildup of negative emotions running in each person's head would cause them to inevitably self-destruct, and no one else would even notice when they did.
When you embrace the power of your emotions, you feel them even more strongly. You smile wider, you love harder, and you just have a brighter perspective on the daily cycle of life. Be proud of yourself for who you are, stop worrying about the criticism of others, and do your best to motivate others in such a way that they wish to do the same. There are some bad, unfeeling people out there, and the most they can say to put you down is that you "feel too much." There's much more to life than that, and the sooner you decide to love your sensitive side and own it, the happier your life will be.
