5 Hardest To Watch Delena Scenes On "The Vampire Diaries"
Promise me this ISN'T forever.
This is a response to 11 TV Characters Who Are Irritating BEYOND Belief.
When Elena decided to be with Damon in season four, everything changed. Damon turned into a selfish jerk (though he arguably was the whole time), while Elena was reduced to nothing more than Damon’s girlfriend. Here are five scenes that are way over-romanticized.
Elena's meltdown, 6x01.

This is at the top of the list simply because grief is a difficult thing, so we’ll cut Elena some slack. However, it was hard to see her fall apart like that, especially when she was so adamant about not falling apart over a guy in the first season. That was the Elena we loved.
The chin kiss, 8x16.
The acting between the two was awful in the finale. It was supposed to be a “happily ever after” moment, but instead they looked extremely uncomfortable with each other.
The first kiss, 2x01.

This scene really should be talked about more. Damon drunkenly tries to force himself on his younger brother’s girlfriend, followed by killing her brother when she understandably rejects him. And yes, Delena fans, this was their first kiss.
The big fight...5x16.

After weeks of not being able to tell that Elena was possessed by Katherine (and then going on a killing spree when he thought she broke up with him, but that’s another issue), she and Damon get in a huge fight where they literally admit how toxic they are. Before having aggressive sex. Just…ugh.
The worst first time, 4x07.

Where to begin. Barely a day after Elena’s breakup with Stefan, she was jumping in bed with Damon. To make it even more sour, the whole episode had her being unnecessarily mean to Stefan as if she didn’t just break his heart. It was really out of character for Elena, and made it seem like their relationship meant nothing to her.
