There is no such thing as too much mental preparation.

Syllabus Week As Told By "The Office"

It is finally the end of winter break, and it is time to start the new semester! You cannot contain the joy of seeing your friends again, and being back at your home away from home. New semester, new you. You tell yourself you are going to procrastinate less, eat healthier, get enough sleep, and exercise more. This semester is going to be even better than the last.

1. You have settled in again and it hits you- you actually have to go to class tomorrow morning.

You have to wake up at a disgustingly early time... so like 8 a.m... it's time to mentally prepare.

2. You get yourself to class on time, and you are praying that your professor does not keep you for the entire class time.

It's 10 minutes into class and your professor is already done going over the syllabus. And wait what... they're ALREADY TEACHING YOU REAL THINGS???

This is where it all starts to go downhill.

3. It is the third day of the semester and you are already drowning in work.

4. The only thing (barely) getting you through is the thought of first weekend getting closer and closer.

5. The classes you thought were going to be interesting and on the easier side have taught you that there is actually probably no such thing in college.

6. Your hopes of procrastinating less have already gone down the drain.

7. And you can totally forget about the whole "eating healthier" thing when stress eating comes into play.

8. You walk out of your last class on Friday and you cannot wait for the nap you are going to take when you get back to your dorm (because yes, you're already sleep deprived).

The week wasn't terrible. But it definitely hurt your soul a significant amount.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.

It's that time of year again- Thanksgiving Break is finally approaching. For college students everywhere, Thanksgiving is a time to relax and not really worry about homework (well, depending on what major you're in).
