Syllabus week is everyone's favorite week of the school year. You have no homework, you're getting to go out every night with your friends to celebrate, you feel invincible. This is how your best week of the year will most likely go down as told by Michael Scott.

When you look at your schedule and realize that you registered for an 8 am.

When your teacher asks you to introduce yourself to the class with a fun fact.

When you walk into class and it's a professor you've already had who didn't round your 89.9 to an A.

When you have an 8 am so you can't go out and your friends go out without you.

When your professor says there is a strict attendance policy.

When your teacher says you can't expect to wait until the last minute to do assignments in this class and still pass.

When your friend is the one with an 8 am and can't go out with you.

When you have to buy your books, parking pass, and all your supplies on the same day.

When you have to call your dad to put more money in your account because you went a little too hard on the first night out.

When you try to park on campus.

When your teacher starts teaching on the first day.

When the professor tells you the final is cumulative.

When you realize syllabus week is over.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
