We are all victims of wanting to make a good first impression, but also wanting to show up in sweatpants and a messy bun because break has us addicted to sleeping in until 12 and having no structure. So, syllabus week is notorious for having everyone show up Monday morning with brushed hair and a full face of makeup, then show up on Friday almost late wearing a sweatshirt and running shorts. I'm guilty of this, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one. Here are some of the thoughts we all have during syllabus week.
1. When the professor jumps right into lecture:
Cause this was supposed to be a free day?
2. Realizing none of your friends are in your class:
Cause then you'll actually have to meet new people.
3. Having to play introduction "games":
I know that my name is important to my face, but let's face it. No matter what, my major will not be cool enough for you to remember my name.
4. Having homework on the first day back:
Why must you bestow this horrible unwanted necessity on me? I do not want to do it. Especially not the first day back.
Despite the inevitable struggle of getting back in the swing of things, the start of the semester is always great and full of new opportunities! We can always look on the bright side of life and make the most out of it!
